Hey Y’all, I’m Maddie
#115843 Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California
Hey Y’all - I am Madeleine (Maddie) Zimmerman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience in the field. My journey in social work and therapy has been driven by a deep belief in the power we all have to reclaim our lives, especially when faced with adversity. Over the past seven years, I have specialized in providing therapeutic services to a diverse clientele, including children, adults, groups, and families, in various settings such as in-home, schools, public libraries, homeless services, outpatient, treatment centers, homeless services and other community-based services.
I was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin and earned my Masters in Social Work from University of Southern California, with a concentration in Social Change and Innovation and a certificate in Non-Profit Management. My passion for social justice and equity was ignited during my undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University (Roll Bills!), where I majored in Criminology & Criminal Justice, and Global & Local Social Justice. There, I was mentored by Dr. Norm White (Rest in Power), a Criminologist dedicated to solving youth homelessness and disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline. Inspired by his mentorship, I co-founded the Overground Railroad to Literacy, an organization dedicated to addressing educational disparities and fostering a crucial dialogues on structural inequities that fuel racism, prejudice and ignorance in our society.
Outside of the therapy space, you can find me hiking, beaching, cooking, reading, cuddling with my cat, Malcolm, traveling, or soaking in the sun somewhere!
As a Licensed Social Worker with over ten years of experience, I’m passionate about providing compassionate care.
Previously, I was a program and clinical manager in LA County, providing clinical support in homeless services and shelters. I worked closely with families, addressing their emotional needs while coordinating with community services that promote dignity and independence.
Throughout my career, I've partnered with various organizations, offering clinical services, grant writing, program development, and staff training. I’ve supported adolescents, adults, and families facing challenges such as addiction, ADHD, homelessness, LGBTQIA+ issues, trauma, and more. I’ve also worked with high-achieving individuals, including executives, lawyers, doctors, and first responders.
With a strong foundation in social justice and clinical expertise, I’m here to support you on your journey to mental wellness—whether you’re facing guilt, anxiety, addiction, or trauma, or seeking balance in life.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.
